Pharmacology
Omega-3-marine Triglycerides:
Omega-3- marine triglycerides are essential fatty acids and are called "essential" because they are necessary in our diets as we cannot function properly without them. They are beneficial for cardiovascular, brain, and skin health. The healthiest fats are the polyunsaturated fats found in fish, flaxseed, walnuts, and some other plant oils. Unfortunately, our modern diets are generally low in these healthy fats, and high in hydrogenated or saturated fats, which are not optimal for heart health. Therefore, we must increase our consumption of healthy fats to counter balance the negative effect of the fats that are less than ideal.
Omega-3-fatty acids decrease serum levels of triglycerides, partly through reduced hepatic synthesis of very low-density lipoprotein and partly by boosting the degradation of fatty acids and accelerating triglyceride clearance from the plasma.
Silymarin is used to:
- Regenerate liver cells damaged by alcohol or drugs
- Decongest the liver (A liver decongestant stimulates bile flow through the liver and gallbladder, thus reducing stagnation and preventing gallstone formation and bile-induced liver damage.)
- Increase the survival rate of patients with cirrhosis
- Complement the treatment of viral hepatitis
- Protect against industrial poisons, such as carbon tetracholoride (a colorless gas that leaks into air, water and soil near manufacturing and waste sites)
- Protect the liver against pharmaceuticals that stress the liver, such as acetaminophen and tetracycline
- Antidote and prevent poisoning from the death cap mushroom, Amanita phalloides
Co-Enzyme Q10:
CoQ
10 is an antioxidant naturally made by our own bodies and found in a variety of foods. It is a primary component in maintaining a healthy metabolism, cholesterol level, and circulatory system. Even though our bodies can make CoQ
10, many people have been found to have significantly decreased levels, especially those with chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, elevated blood sugar, or any heart-related condition. People who take statin medications for high cholesterol levels also are at risk for a CoQ
10 deficiency. These conditions and medications seem to deplete the body of CoQ
10 and therefore supplementation may be helpful.
Coenzyme Q
10 (CoQ
10) can potentially enhance cardiac function through a variety of mechanisms. CoQ
10 is most prominent role is to facilitate the production of ATP by participating in redox reactions within the electron transport chain in the mitochondria. In addition to its critical role as a component of the electron transport chain, CoQ
10 is a potent antioxidant. CoQ
10 has been shown to inhibit the peroxidation of cell membrane lipids and reduces the oxidation of circulating lipolipids. Supplementation with CoQ
10 inhibited low-density lipoprotein oxidation to a significantly greater degree compared with other natural antioxidants, such as Beta-carotene or alpha-tocopherol.
Picrorhiza Kurroa Extract:
Picrorhiza kurroa is a herb, commonly called Kutki or Kutaki. It contains a 'bitter principle' which is a mixture of two molecules, the irioid glycosides known as picroside I and picroside II (picroside II also being called kutkoside) and the mixture overall is then called kutkin or picroliv. Overall, these are the active components. The herb itself, due to kutkin molecules, appears to be potently hepatoprotective (protective of the liver) when ingested prior to or taken after exposure to a toxin. The protective effects seem to extend to all tested toxins or stressors that are known to alter liver function, and appear to also extend to states of intrinsic liver dysfunction (viral hepatitis and NAFLD from a high fat diet).
Phyllanthus Amarus Extract:
Phyllanthus niruri is a weed, also known as gale of the wind or stonebreaker. It is known for protecting the liver. It may also combat kidney stones, hence the "stonebreaker" moniker.
According to studies on rats, P. niruri may help treat nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and atherosclerosis. Both conditions may cause insulin resistance. The study found P. niruri decreased insulin resistance and reduced the amount of fatty acids in the liver.
It also acts as antioxidant in P. niruri which may help protect the liver from acetaminophen toxicity.
Phyllanthus niruri may also help cure hepatitis B infections due to its anti-viral and liver-protecting abilities.
Andrographis Paniculata Extract:
Andrographis paniculata is a medicinal herb with an extremely bitter taste used to treat liver disorders, bowel complaints of children, colic pain, common cold and upper respiratory tract infection. The aerial part of A. paniculata is commonly used in Chinese medicine. According to Chinese medicine theory, A. paniculata 'cools' and relieves internal heat, inflammation and pain and is used for detoxication.
Choline Bitartrate:
Choline is a water-soluble macronutrient that's important for liver function, normal brain development, nerve function, muscle movement, supporting energy levels and maintaining a healthy metabolism. Choline is present in the form of phosphatidycholine, a compound that makes up the structural component of fat, and thus can be found in different types of foods that naturally contain certain fats.
Choline helps in the process of methylation, which is used to create DNA, for nerve signaling, and for detoxification.
Inositol:
Inositol helps in keeping the liver clean. By keeping your liver clean, means living longer, healthier, and skinnier. It helps to regulate what goes in and what comes out. It doesn't allow bile to sit idle and it certainly evicts fat molecules on their way out. By allowing this compound to do its job, you can reduce risks of liver dysfunction, fatty liver disease, and liver failure. When the liver gets clogged with gunk, your hormones are out of balance, slow and ineffective.
Lecithin:
Lecithin regulates fat metabolism in the liver, where it binds with proteins that lower triglycerides and boost levels of good cholesterol in the bloodstream. The liver needs phosphatidylcholine to produce very-low-density lipoproteins, which carry fats from the liver.
If levels of phosphatidylcholine are low, fats build up in the liver, eventually causing liver damage. People tend to develop nonalcoholic fatty liver disease if they don't have enough choline.
L-methionine:
Methionine is a potent antioxidant and an important amino acid for your liver's repair and rebuilding processes. Methionine forms cysteine, which helps form glutathione enzymes that help detoxify chemicals and free radicals. Methionine prevents excess fat buildup and helps relieve or prevent fatigue.
L-glutathione:
Liver is rich in glutathione level, which helps in detoxifying it. Your liver, having one of the highest concentrations of glutathione in the body, also endures a great deal of damaging factors from pollution, diet, exposure to the wrong yeasts,
Every time your liver is exposed to excess chemicals, pollutants, or toxins, your liver concentrations of glutathione drops considerably. This is in line with anti-oxidant theory, where the chemicals like alcohol cause damaging oxidative stress and inflammation, so the GSH gets used up combating the reactive oxygen species.
L-ornithine:
Ornithine is one of the three amino acids involved in the Urea cycle, alongside L-Arginine and L-Citrulline; these amino acids appears to reduce elevated ammonia levels when supplemented, and enhances physical performance, stamina, or recovery due to this.
Curcumin:
Turmeric is an herbaceous plant belonging to the ginger family. The yellow compound curcumin can be derived from the plant extract of turmeric. It has many benefits:
- Boosts antioxidant defenses and helps the liver detoxify
- Helps prevent liver cirrhosis
- Resolves inflammation
- Regulates gene expression to reverse cirrhosis
- Has anti-fibrotic activity
- Helps regulate cholesterol levels
- Reduces blood sugar levels and protects the liver
- Balances leptin levels
- Protects from hepatitis infection
- Reduces side effects of alcohol consumption
- Holds therapeutic potential in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD)
- Can prevent Liver cancer/ Hepatocellular carcinoma
Piperine:
Piperine is actually the alkaloid responsible for the unique smell of black pepper.
There are two key benefits of black pepper extract, including:
Improved Liver Health
Better Nutrient And Supplement Absorption (including 2000% Better Bioavailability Of Curcumin)
Vitamin B6:
Liver disease can cause vitamin B deficiencies. The B-complex family comprises eight different B vitamins. Vitamin B deficiency most often occurs in alcoholics as a result of poor diet. B-complex vitamins are often affected by liver disease include B
1, or thiamine; B
6; and B
12.
